How long have you been in the food service industry, Rose?
I started in the foodservice industry when I was 18 years old in Chicago. I purchased my first pizza restaurant in 2000 in Cleveland. From that experience I wanted to create my own concept. I wanted a delivery component, a kid friendly atmosphere, all food made to order using FRESH ingredients while being closed on Sundays. Tomaydo-Tomahhdo was born in 2002 as an upscale fast casual concept.
Was there a particular issue that led you to choosing an all-in-one POS system like Revention?
Yes. Over the years we have added to our concept. We have delivery (a very large part of my business), dine in, carryout, call ahead express pick up and house accounts. We needed a solution that could handle all of these revenue centers. Revention does the trick!
Business wise, do you feel that modern technology, specifically an all-in-one solution such as Revention, is mandatory in today’s highly competitive restaurant industry?
Yes, I do. When you have a hard drive, a touchscreen monitor, a fingerprint reader and a credit card swiper, it is so much easier to have an all in one for all of these components. We keep an extra Revention all in one on hand just in case something goes down. We haven’t had any problems yet!
Do you believe that a POS system has a direct impact on a customer’s experience?
I think the better the software, the quicker we can process orders. Our system now works seamlessly with all of our IP printers and KDS units. We are happy with our system. If I had to do it all over again, I would choose Revention.
Had you used a POS system prior to Revention, and if so, what can you tell us about the experience?
Sales people sell…service people service...Revention structures their company so that the same person does BOTH. It’s a pleasure working with my Revention Sales Associate - he knows how to sell and how to service. The support we get is right on target.
If you were using a previous POS, why did you make the switch to Revention POS? What are the major differences in functionality?
Our previous POS didn’t have remote access which I use daily. If we need code written for a specific proprietary function, Revention can do it! No one else cares as much as the TEAM at Revention.
How do you feel that Revention has added to Tomaydo Tomahhdo® brand?
I feel as if we are a team, partners if you will. Revention takes care of us and we are happy to promote Revention.
What has been the most rewarding part of your journey thus far with Tomaydo Tomahhdo®?
Knowing that Revention’s Product Manager and my Revention Sales Associate are my partners!! They are smarter than I am when it comes to POS
programming and installation and they continually teach me how to use the product better. They take the time to get to know my concept and the goals I have. We have now added HungerRush as our online ordering platform as well as our loyalty program and marketing tool. It is truly an all in one solution.
Being as successful as you are, what advice would you give to other owner/operators out there like yourself?
Run! Just kidding…
Take the time to research what your restaurant needs and compare those needs against any POS available and you will see that Revention is the best fit for multi-unit independent operators.
